Buddhism Meditation, Health and Happiness

By Dee Braun, DrR, CA, CCT

Anyone who practices Buddhist meditation will reap benefits beyond just spending time sitting in the lotus position. Meditation helps you to gain a clearer picture of yourself.

Through analytic meditation, you can examine habits that you have formed over the years. Destructive behaviors can be re-evaluated and changed when you realize they are not beneficial to your life.

Meditation can also help you to see things from another point of view. If you are disagreeing with someone on something, Buddhist meditation can help you to see the situation from another’s perspective.

Buddhist meditation also has benefits to the practitioner in intuitive meditation. You get a better understanding of yourself and your purpose for living. Buddhists believe that we are all connected in some way: people, animals and the universe at large. A deeper purpose brings clarity of mind and relaxation in the body.
